I think that it is vital to have special education when you work with autistic children. An on-line training aimed at needs of pre-school teachers is definitely useful. I hope I could share experience with other professionals and learn new ways and methods of how to work with autistic children.
Tell us about your experience and needs working with autistic children/ parenting your autistic child and dealing with school issues?
When working with autistic children I always need to set the goal first, areas in which I will support them. Then I think about appropriate methods and organization. I use visuals a lot. I apply individual approach, teach through play, and experience learning. I use child´s favourite activivies and toys to motivate him/her for learning.
In my view, the most important thing is to learn how to react appropriately to child´s changing moods.
The school has important role in setting the conditions for the learning process: by reducing number of children in the class, providing assistants to the teachers
