I am glad that the question of educating autistic children has been generally more discussed. I am very happy that our pre-school has got involved in the project and has been helpful. As a parent I don´t know any on-line training course, however any education is helpful. Very important is to get support in the real life, though. Theory and practice often differ.
Tell us about your experience and needs parenting your autistic child and dealing with school issues?
Upbringing of an autistic child is very exhausting. It costs a lot of energy. I have learned to search for new ways of and approaches constantly. It is very important that the child feels well and safe. Only then he is willing to learn. When he is in stress, he wouldn´t do anything.
Why are you interested in the ETTECEC project?
In my opinion it is important to raise public awareness on the problem of education and care of autistic children. Any project that can do this and help teachers in their work is important and useful.
Why do you think that it is necessary to develop a training for pre-school teachers?
